FreeLabs are two-week design-build projects which take place every July. This FreeLab, was to design and build a rammed earth garden pavilion in the back yard of a residence in Halifax’s North End. The team designed the building, selected and mixed the construction materials, built the dry-stacked stone foundation, designed, costed and built the structure’s formwork, rammed the walls, and then designed and built the roof to shelter the structure.
